“Além da tradicional engorda intensiva na entressafra, o período seco do ano, o confinamento se tornou ferramenta versátil que serve para todas as estações do ano para o pecuarista. Em participação no Giro do Boi desta quarta, 24, o zootecnista Alex Ortelan, especialista em nutrição e pastagem e em gestão de confinamento, falou sobre os benefícios do confinamento do boi das águas”.
“Além do manejo de pastagem na transição da seca para as águas, quando você faz um ajuste na lotação da sua fazenda e permite que o pasto rebrote da melhor forma possível, você ajusta também o seu fluxo de caixa. Você tem uma entrada de dinheiro na sua propriedade no decorrer do ano, não só no período seco. Essa é uma grande vantagem para o pecuarista”, sustentou Ortelan, gerente de nutrição dos Confinamentos JBS no Brasil. A condição favorável ao pecuarista pode ser reforçada ainda com a engorda terceirizada nos boiteis da companhia, conforme apontou o zootecnista. Isto porque dentro das modalidades de negócios oferecidas nos confinamentos da empresa não há desembolso imediato – os custos são descontados somente após o abate do lote. Assim, o produtor ganha fôlego em seu caixa para investir em outras áreas da fazenda”.

“Entre os ajustes feitos para a engorda das águas está a redução da lotação das baias para evitar formação de barro excessivo em decorrência das chuvas, por exemplo. “E acabando as águas, nós já estamos preparando as nossas estruturas para aumentar a lotação das baias de novo, a lotação de seca novamente, devido à demanda que a gente está tendo pelos nossos boiteis. A gente vem com uma lotação mais baixa nas águas e agora vamos evoluir para uma nova lotação, sempre atendendo as metragens recomendadas pelos pesquisadores da área de bem-estar animal, para atender os amigos pecuaristas que vierem nos procurar”.
